BEFORE & AFTER

WENDIGO WAY

The largest aspect of this project was the conversion of the attic space into a master suite. We opened up the walls at either end of the gable roof, hiding structural posts between the new vertical windows. We used long shed dormers to provide the ceiling height needed and brought in light with transom windows. We ensured that the execution of the dormers was done in such a way as to preserve the architectural integrity of the front façade of the home. All architectural and interior design completed by MCD.

MERTON ST

This project brought us the opportunity to design a 2-storey + basement rear addition for this semi-detached home. We opened up the main floor for easy circulation and to create the perfect place to host friends and family. The 2nd floor addition houses the master suite with wide views of the very private backyard. All architectural and interior design completed by MCD.

HOPE ST

The brief for this project was to transform a dated, closed-off floor plan into a family-friendly, open concept main floor for a family of four. With a live-in nanny down-stairs, we also needed to incorporate storage for kids toys in a way that ensured the the space felt grown-up when the toys are put away. This invited us to use cabinetry as our primary zoning tool - keeping the floor open but with a clear articulation of the function of each space. All architectural and interior design completed by MCD.
